I have a wireless connection to my Wrt54gs router but cannot access the internet?

I have a connection to my router a Linksys WRT54GS (a Low signal) but I cannot connect to the internet. The computer brings up an error message saying it has not received an IP address from the router. I than tell the computer to repair the problem. It then renews the ip address and I can use the internet for about five minutes before the problem starts again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

the problem may not be with the router. more than likely it's your modem try calling your isp(internet service provider)

I am a boy .. living in uk .. and 13 years old! I have been Good at computers since i was 6 , you cant blieve it but i use to do repair computers at a age of 7! I used to install Windows - Linux for people and charge them when i was 8! Anyaways about 1 year ago i started a Hosting business - Right now its a BIG company - no one knows my age but 3 people work in this company full time! have about 500 customers and its a BIG thing ... yes i do earn a big amount of money monthly and i help out my mum and dad all the time ( paying bills etc ) .. right now i spend 5 Hours on the PC answering tickets - and i am stand by all the time for staff to call me if something goes down BUT i hate it now .. i dont want the money i just want to be free - i want to be able to sleep well .. not thinking aaah this drive on that server is going to fail !!! I cant .. i can sell the company for about 60k but then it needs to get legal - i need to be over 18! i dont know ... i will apperciate any help

I'm not a tech but if you have the correct software install it first then if its usb connection plug it in windows xp if thats what you have windows should help you do the rest. Also look at the contents of the software disk or on the manufactures web page and they should have installation procedures for the type of operating system you might have. If you can't find the web page try softpedia.com they have a lot of software and drivers for various models of equipment. If its a printer port install install the software then turn off the computer and hook up the cable to the printer port on the computer and the scanner will have another port for the printer to hook up to, then power up the computer and follow the installation setup program. How do you disable RPC service?

Hey I need some help I'm repairing a friends computer, and he has some viruses on there. I'm trying to clean it out, but Windows Xp won't allow me to do it. It always got a window coming up telling me that the computer has to restart and something about the RPC. I went tru ''My Computer%26gt;Manage'' then went in services to disable it. But I still got that message. I would like to know how can I completely get rid of that message so I can scan his computer to get rid of the virus(es)?

Since your friend's computer is infected by viruses, then you should boot Wndows XP in Safe Mode. In this way, 32-bit programs are prohibited from execution, including the viruses. From there, try to see if you can scan for viruses using the installed antivirus program. Otherwise, you can try to see if you can disable the RPC service from within Safe Mode.

The RPC service can be accessed from Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services - Remote Procedure Call (RPC). Double click on the service to open it, go to the Recovery tab, then select ''Take No Action'' from the drop-down menu in each of the three categories.

Why doesn't Acer Computers change their name to ';Deucer';?

I bought a nice looking Desktop from Wal-Mart with a 17'' widescreen monitor. In less then 2 weeks the computer had all kids of problems.

Also, the monitor had a green line running vertically through the screen.

I got a warranty repair request in for the computer and screen and they give me the adress to send it to. Then I get a package back from them saying that they're returning the peripherals that they don't need to repair the computer. When I told them that they were suppose to repair the monitor also I was told that it has to be actualy sent to another adddress. I have to pay for the shipping myself!!

Hilariously, when I first called the customer support line I casually asked the woman what kind of computers they use. She says ''HP''!!

You are just one of the unlucky ones.

Acer has a very good quality record considering how inexpensive a lot of their machines are.

The reason Acer does not use their own PC's is because they are a Personal Computer manufacturer and do not do large corporate servers.

Having a bad experience with an online company, what should I do?

I ordered a gaming computer in late December from an online company that specializes in such. When I received it on Jan. 8th, everything appeared to be fine at first. After I installed some games, they wouldn't play correctly. After about 10 minutes into a game, it would suddenly reboot or freeze up. I tried and tested many things to get it to work.

Eventually, out of frustration, I sent it back under warranty to have it repaired by that same company. Here it is, Jan 31st and I still have not received my computer. I've called several times. The first time, 1 week ago, they told me no one had even looked at my computer yet. The second time the guy seemed confused as to what I was asking about. The third time (about 10 mins ago), they said it was ''still in repair.'' I asked if they had found the problem yet, and they said, ''I don't know.'' Other than my inquiries, I've received absolutely no communication from them.

i think you bought you PC from the same place my brother did. exactly the same thing happened to him the copmany he was with had it for nearly 3 months and then sent him a stupid e-mail saying he had but games on it and it caused it to crash. and here's whats stupid. The PC was designed for gaming apparently. so eventually he got trading standards involved and they got him his PC sent back in a week. god knows what they said to them but whatever it was it worked.
