things they don't use anymore, mostly computers but they can't be outdated, or if they are must be fast, and not damaged beyond repair. just asking, my cousins mom works for a company that is a branch from hp. they get discount computers, all the time. just some water that spills onto it they throw the whole thing away, even the new vista ones. they also refuse to give it away without being payed. sorry to be geeky, but i really need another computer. my old one is just to slow and won't work sometimes.
Are there any companies that give away old stuff?nortan antivirus
Most of this type of stuff is sold to wholesalers (you see a lot of them on Ebay selling pallets of goods, as is).
I mean, they are businesses, and won't waste money where they can recoup even some of it.
Most companies that throw away computers and such, only throw away computers that most people don't want.
My company just offered 9 old desktops (no hard drives and no operating system) and 4 old monitors (14-15'') for free to any of the employees.
What the heck am I going to do with 4GB hard drives and nic cards?

You could try asking and watching on your local FreeCycle list. I received a wonderful FREE 20'' monitor from a man who had just bought a laptop. It is super! I feel as if I am looking at a movie screen rather than ''ol' squinty'', my former 13'' one.
i dont know of any businesses besides ebay but you might want to check the papers' classifieds for people selling used stuff
Well, there are ways of getting free stuff from companies (even new parts if you're good at it.) What I've found that workd is you ask around their Resource Management people REAL NICELY and ask if they have any old, useless computers they'd like someone to get rid of. If you're lucky, you'll probably wind up with one in FAIRLY good repair. Just find someone who knows how to repair comps (i.e. a friend) or someone who doesn't charge too much and you're set. Either that, or go dumpster diving (you wouldn't believe what people throw away, wasters...) I've found fully functioning DVD-RW +/- drives in computers that are fried that people have just thrown in the bin (here's a tip if you do go DDing: wear old clothes lol.)
