There is something wrong with my laptop. The wireless thingee is in the next room (not 10 feet away) but for some reason it keeps losing its connection! My geek friend came over to check it out and said it isn't a problem with the internet because his laptop (which he set up right next to mine) never had interrupted service! Every time it goes out I have to right click on the wireless connection symbol in the tray and click ''repair''. It fixes it but only for about 10 minutes. Also, the longer the computer is on without being turned off, the longer the connection lasts. Please help! It's driving me nuts! (It disconnected twice while I was writing this!)

Try this:
Click on the wireless connection symbol in the tray.
Click on properties.
Click on Configure, next to the name of your wireless connection card.
Click on the Advanced tab, if its not already open.
Set the transmission power and power management to the highest values.
Set the Wireless mode and Preferred band to 802.11b only.
The last step might be important, especially in some Intel wireless cards, because they have a problem with 802.11g (54mbps) connections. Now your wireless connection will work at 11mbps which is still more than enough for an internet connection.
