I ran a scan on my computer using AVG, it came up with trojan horse as a threat and erased it, but it also came up with kernel32.dll? It said changed next to it, what does this mean? do I need to erase it somehow? if so then how? and why hasn't AVG got rid of it for me - I'm REALLY confused!!!!! I found similar questions here but they all give different advice. Do I need to take my computer to be repaired?
Trojan horse and kernel32.dll?????anti virus
Change - You don't need to worry. Nothing's wrong with the file, it always happens to these few files...
The Kernel32.dll file is a 32-bit dynamic link library file in Windows 95,98,Me. The Kernel32.dll file handles memory management, input/output operations, and interrupts. When you start Windows, Kernel32.dll is loaded into a protected memory space so that other programs do not take over that memory space.
user32.dll is a module that contains Windows API functions related the Windows user interface (Window handling, basic UI functions, and so forth).
ntoskrnl.exe is a critical process in the boot-up cycle of your computer although should never appear in WinTasks whilst under normal circumstances. ntoskrnl.exe should not be disabled, required for essential applications to work properly.
They are not harmful and should not be removed or altered.
