I recently had to take an older computer in for repair. I did a back up before taking the computer in. I ended up having to buy a new PC because the repair took too long. I retrieved my Outlook back up .pst and restored it into the new computer. But there were no contact files. Any chance I can still get them somehow? HEEEEEEEEELP!

You import your contacts. If you backed up everything on your old hard disk, put the CD into the CDROM drive and in Outlook, click on File, you Convert your Personal Address Book to a Contacts folder. On the File menu, click Import and Export.
In the Choose an action to perform list, click Import from another program or file, and then click Next.
In the Select file type to import from list, click Personal Address Book, and then click Next.
In the Select destination folder list, click Contacts, and then click Next.
Follow the rest of the steps in the wizard.
I had to do this, and it took two tries to get it right. Keep with it, and you'll get your contacts back.
That happens all the time when you bring it from a backup.pst file. Here's how you can do it in Outlook 2003, so if you have the same version, you could follow the same steps, but if you have an older version, see if it works.
On the top menu go under Go--%26gt; Contacts that should show u all the contacts and on the left you should see the contacts address book. right click on it and go under properties, go under Outlook Adress Book tab and check the box beside Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book.
Hope that helps.
