I broke my scanner glass last night. What is the cheapest/best way to fix it? Thanks?

please only answer if you are a tech or if you have had this problem before...I don't know if I can order the glass(it's a Brother all-in-one), send it to Brother to repair(eek!), take it to a computer shop, etc.

By the time you get done purchasing the new parts (if they have them available) and install them, you would be out more time and money than getting a new scanner. They are like printers.. when they go bad just trash it and get another

It would be less troublesome and cheaper to buy a new one.
It would be best to buybthe one made for the scanner, a glass by any other maker may not be of as high a quality, as the original.
You may be able to call a glass and window store. Custom cut glass is very inexpensive. Unless there is a special coating on the glass, that they do not have- it may be cheapest and easiest way.

Give your local glass store a call and run the idea buy them, and see if they think its worth you stopping buy to show them a sample of the glass. I have order many different cuts/thickness, etc. glass for various projects.

Otherwise a new scanner may be cheaper than repair/shipping, etc.
It's probably cheaper just to buy a new one. You can get them cheap, $20 on Ebay for a great one. I would look at just getting a new one, unless it's a thousand dollar scanner it's probably not worth fixing.
