I am soon starting my own business, I am going to be repairing and building personal computer systems, installing wired and wireless networks and providing some software support to domestic customers, my name is as above, I am just trying to think of a catchy name for my business?

Here are some things to consider when choosing your name:-

Are you starting the business, with the intention of selling the business down the track? It may be easier to sell a generically named business, than one with your own personal name.

You have told us what your business intends to do, in its first year, but from my experience dealing with businesses, what they start doing and what they end up doing may be totally different things, because the opportunity presents itself. Don't limit your business by your business name.

Make sure that it is easy to spell, and pronounce. If someone hears it on the radio, can they google the name, and find you?

If it's personal systems, then use your own name. It's a big mistake to use a company name. It'll cost you business because you'll look expensive and it's a bit 80's-90's. These days it's perfectly acceptable and the 'norm' to use your own name as the business name, as it is to work from home. The domestic market is terrified of companies. About 5 years ago I changed the name of my business from a company name to my own name and over a period of about 6 months my business and volume of phone calls nearly doubled. Company names and logos are like noisy motorcycles....the only person it impresses is the person who owns it.
