For people that owned laptop computers!!!???

1. you turned on your laptop, you see the logo, and then the screen goes black. after that, you see a gray bar flashing on the upper left hand side of the black screen. for long periods of time when the laptop is still on, gray bar is still there. is it possible to use a restore CD(ex: toshiba, acer, hp, compaq, etc....) to fix the booting problem. ( or some cd. someone said that the gray bar problem is the result of a booting problem. could mean that some files are either changed or missing on the computer.)

2. is it possible to take the computer to a repair shop, and get the booting problem fixed for a reasonable price. ( or even get it fixed at all)

3. how to prevent this problem in the future?

For people that owned laptop computers!!!???free anti virus

Put the windows xp cd in, make sure that it'll start up on it first (do this in bios), then after the cd blue screen started up, press R for repair, and on the command screen, type in fixboot.

For people that owned laptop computers!!!???internet security software

Go to the manufacturer's website and find the laptop that you have and see if there is any common bugs or problems. Or look around on the internet to see if anyone has had the same problem.
it's definitely fixable
