my windows vista home premuim is having a ''windows boot manager'' window that pops up saying
'Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. to fix the problem:
1.Insert your windows installation disc and restard your computer.
2. Choose your language setting, and then click ''next.''
3. Click ''repair your computer.''
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

ok so the thing is, i have the installation disk, and i used it, the computer 'seemed' to be fixed.. when i turned it on the next day i find the problem presists, and this time it doesn't even give me the chance to ''boot from the installations CD'' and instead just jumps straight to the same window with the whole

Yeah, take the easy way out, blame the manufacturer and return it...not a chance.
Your Windows Vista DVD is bootable...as you know. You may have to go into your BIOS and set the boot order to have th CD/DVD-ROM ahead of your hard drive. To dot his, when it says on your screen "Hit F2 (or watever) to enter Setup", do so. Then you will see the boot order area.
This will allow you to boot to he DVD. Now, to fix your problem, run the repair like the instructions say. If that doesn't work, then your only option is to completely reinstall Windows Vista. Sorry, but that's just the way it works.
As for what went wrong and caused the problem in the first place... perhaps a virus, but I doubt it. It's really hard to say.

This is most likely a computer still under warranty. Return it.
